A hint as to whether this Senator John Elliott's father married Renchie Norman:

It's in the Senator's article.  His daughter was named Esther Amarintha.
Could he have given her middle name after Amarintha "Renchie," who had been his stepmother until just four years before he married Esther Bullock?  

His father died in 1791.  The Hon. John Elliott you have listed as Renchie's husband also died in 1791.  Coincidence?  The evidence mounts.
