The Midway community sent a delegation to the First Continental Congress
even though the province of George declined to do so.

The first three signatories to the Declaration of Independence are
from Georgia:
 Button Gwinnett
 Lyman Hall
 George Walton

All three were associated with the Midway community in one way or another.

George Walton was an ancestor of some of us (more than shown on this chart):
