China movie
There is a movie about a missionary in China, probably produced in the 1950s.
The principal character is likely modelled on
Rev. John Winn Quarterman, who sailed to China on the Grafton
on 31 May 1846, translated partsof scripture into Chinese,
as well as a catechism. He died at Ningpo, China, of smallpox
14 October 1857, and was buried there.
I have seen this movie several times on television, many years
ago, but I cannot recall the title.
I'm pretty sure it is *not*:
The Sand Pebbles
The Inn of the Sixth Happiness
The Good Earth
Pavilion of Women
The Bitter Tea of General Yen
Does anyone know?
