This is the information as I have it regarding the first marriage of Alexander Sanford Quarterman. According to notes left by his daughter, Mary Moultrie Quarterman, her mother was Catherine W. Moultrie. There were 4 children born to this marriage: Mary Moultrie b. 15 Sept.1856, Ellie Sanford, 8 Dec 1857 - 2 Mar. 1858, Matilda Louise, 4 Aug 1859 - 26 Jan 1862, and Catherine M., no dates for her, but did not survive. Mary Moultrie was married first to Charles Hardeman Cromwell (b.6 Oct.1851 in Milledgeville, GA) on 21 Oct. 1874 by Rev. A. W. Clisby. They had 2 children, Charles H. Cromwell, Jr., who d. 6 Sept. 1875, 16 days old, and Marion Moultrie Cromwell, b.12 Dec.1876 in Macon, GA. The Cromwell information is from the Charles R.(?) Cromwell BIble of Macon, found in "Georgia Bible Records, compiled by Jeannette Holland Austin, Baltimore, Gen. Publ. Co., Inc., 1985. I found it in the Brunswick Glynn County Regional Library.
The marriage to Mr. Haight was her 2nd.

On your pages 248-9, you say that Anna Elizabeth Quarterman, widow of Joseph Edgar Way, was buried at Flemington Presbyterian Church Cemetery. That is not correct. The A.E. Way buried there by Joseph Edgar Way is his first wife, Almira Ellen Spencer. Anna Elizabeth Quarterman Way is buried in Palmetto Cemetery, Brunswick GA, in the plot with her sister & brother-in-law, Corinne Quarterman & Albert Morse Way, Sr.
