Very interesting.

The material appears to be mostly derived from Orcutt.
For example, it doesn't say anything about the later trips with more people.

It also includes this final paragraph:

``A very few people who had made the dangerous voyage from Dorchester,
Massachusetts, to South Carolina with the Reverend Lord were still alive;
now, in 1751, they readied themslves for another trip.''

I wonder who was still alive who had made the first trip from Mass.?
Could be quite a few people, actually, since 1751 - 1695 = 56, and
many of our ancestors lived longer than that.

Here are a few, from a hasty scan of the database using the LifeLines alive
report generator. Note that alive is guessing many dates, marked with c for
circa. I suppose we could check some of the death dates by seeing who
was listed as an emigrant to Midway.

There are definite dates for at least two of these people,
William Way (III), who was my g6-uncle, and
Michael Bacon.

I would imagine Dane Bowen can probably come up with some others.

I2161 Mehitable Osgood (1694-c1754)
            Mass., Essex, Andover
Her parents emigrated to S.C., so it's safe to assume she did, too.

I2244 William Way (1694-1766)
            S. C., Dorchester
            Ga., Liberty Co., Midway

I3259 Abigail Way (1692-c1752)

I3268 Susannah Chamberlin (1693-c1753)
I3269 Mary Chamberlin (1695-c1755)
Their parents emigrated to S.C., so it's safe to assume they did, too.

I7276 Sarah wife of Moses Way (c1691-c1751)
Her husband emigrated to S.C., so it's safe to assume she did, too.

I9116 Richard Andrews (c1694-c1754)
He was associated with the S.C. people. We don't know where he
came from, but Mass. seems likely.

I11795 Thomas Elliott Jr. (c1695-c1755)
He was associated with the S.C. people. We don't know where he
came from, but Mass. seems likely.

Here are some S.C. relatives who were still alive:

I2502 Mary Cater (c1692-c1752)
Married Thomas Quarterman and then Richard Baker

I14047 Robert Ellison (c1693-c1753)
I14048 Mary Lloyd (c1695-c1755)
They were married.

I14215 Jean Robert (1687-1760)
            S. C., French Santee
            S. C., Colleton Co.
He of the lengthy Robarts-Shepard discussion of some months back.

Here are some cousins back in Mass. who were still alive:

His mother was Mary Osgood.

I10253 Jonathan Bacon (1672-1754)
            Mass., Billerica
            Mass., Beford
His brother Michael went to S.C.

I10495 Samuel Chandler (1671-1786)
Yes, the records say he lived to the age of 115.

I10740 Hannah Fowler (1692-1759)
            Mass., Salisbury
            Mass., Amesbury
A cousin of the Osgoods and Chandlers.

I14788 Jonathan Ball (1692-1778)
            Mass.
            Mass., Granville
I14789 Elizabeth Olds (1698-c1758)
            Mass.
They were married. Not entirely sure how they were related to S.C. or Midway.

I19096 Samuel Lord (1691-1755)
            Mass., Essex, Ipswich
I19097 Abigail Lord (1693-c1753)
            Mass., Essex, Ipswich
I19098 Ruth Lord (1695-c1755)
            Mass., Essex, Ipswich
First cousins once removed of Rev. Joseph Lord.

There were others in Connecticut; not sure how most of them were related.

Some cousins who were in New York to start with:

I10273 Esther LeConte (1694-c1754)

I10274 William LeConte Jr. (1695-c1755)

And for historical context, although not cousins to us so far as I know:

I16739 George_II Hanover (1683-1760)

I17296 James Francis Edward Stuart (1688-1766)
aka James III, or the Old Pretender.
