Re: Quarterman Dates

Dear Mr. Quarterman,

There is a town in southwestern New Jersey near the Delaware Bay called Greenwich. It is on Cohansey Creek. During the 1770's, during the Revolutionary War, tea was taken off a British ship and stored in the basement of a Tory (supporter of the British) colonist whose surname was Bowen.  He lived in Greenwich.  Colonial patriots took the British tea from Mr. Bowen's basement and burned it in the town square.  I do not know in exactly what year this event occurred.

Sincerely,
