He may have been married before he moved to Midway in 1757.
Of course that's hard to square with him being born after 1768,
due to records of deeds of gift.  Maybe he got married somewhere else.

David Leon has tracked him down as son of John Graves b. ca. 1715 S.C.
and Elizabeth, with John son of Moses Graves d. 1735 and Sarah Sumner,
and Sarah being daughter of Joseph Sumner.  Looks like we haven't yet
managed to connect that Joseph with the Mass. line of Sumners.

In other words, this William Graves m. Ann is a nephew of the other
William Graves m. Rebecca Quarterman.
