   In 1066: Hardraada sails, Harald Hardraada, sailing from Norway to
   England, is augmented by allies from [2]Orkney and [3]Shetland.
   [4]Tomorrow:  September 13.
   In 1847: B. Chapultepec, [5]Scott defeats Santa Anna in the decisive
   battle of the U.S.-Mexican War, commemorated in the [6]Marines' Hymn:
   [7]``From the Halls of Montezuma...''. "Dia de Los Niņos Heroes de
   Chapultepec" ("day of the boy heroes of Chapultepec). One possible
   origin of the Spanish word [8]gringo.
